Is McDonalds breaking underage gambling laws with the monopoly game?
I'm confused. Fast food restaurants like McDonalds offer promotions like the monopoly game with promises of winning a million dollars, and free vacations. Yet minors are not allowed in casinos because it is illegal for a minor to gamble or enter a gambling institution. So, what is the loophole these restaurant chains are using in order to be able to promote gambling to minors without breaking the law? Just a question I thought I'd throw out there? Is McDonalds breaking underage gambling laws with their monopoly game?
No, because you can write in for a free piece without having to make a purchase, so you don't have to gamble by paying for a chance to win. A lot of contests have this "no purchase necessary" trick. Publishers Clearing House does the same thing. (Are they still around or not?)
However, McDonalds must be breaking some law by serving that crap food to kids. Is it any wonder that half of American kids are overweight? Throw somebody's a$$ in jail for attempted murder by cholesterol! Is McDonalds breaking underage gambling laws with their monopoly game?
Probably not. If you read the fine print you'll probably find that minors are ineligible to participate.
