McDonalds Monopoly Odds-How can we win?

Hi,

Our kids went through 36 tickets and even with trying our odds on the computer, they have 4 winning tickets.

My questions are

Is there a formula or a time we should go on the computer and should we do it all one time?

Should we just stick to one particular position when choosing the Chance card?

I feel so bad for the kids since it says "1 out of 4" is a winner.

They love McDonalds and food prize is good enough for them.

Thanks!McDonalds Monopoly Odds-How can we win?
sorry it is a game of luck nobody knows.McDonalds Monopoly Odds-How can we win?
First, only certain "control" properties will win the big prizes. They are the same actual properties as in years past (started 2003). Of those, it is more likely most (not all) will be released later than sooner, milking the extra sales so people keep trying. You know they will watch the sales spike before dropping most of those monster prizes.

Second, winning free food isn't worth the "1-in-4" odds, much less the 1-in-9 odds you suggested. Suppose the free fries are worth $1. You'd have to buy 4 combo meals ($5.69 X 4, or almost $23) to get one free drink ($1) or fries ($1). The other prizes offer much harder odds.

In 2010, the online game was changed, removing the dice and the game board, presenting only 3 Chance cards from which to pick. One has a prize, starting at 30 My Coke Rewards points, but may be (non-randomly) seeded with a higher-valued prize. Player chooses one card, is asked if that is the choice the player wants to make, and the card is flipped. If it is the pre-selected winning card, player wins the pre-selected prize. Odds of winning: 1:3.

Here's the breakout of the bigger prizes from the food games courtesy of Wikipedia:

Truthfully, I wouldn't waste my time trying to get an edge on the "competition". You have no actual control. In fact, about 10 years ago McDonald's subsidiary running the game (Simon) cheated and made sure executive's choices won the prizes, though those 21 personnel were caught and punished. That's why they've been careful reintroducing the Monopoly game.

I don't have an answer for you, but can at least tell you this. I have been putting codes also on the online game, and just like your kids, have not seen good odds. I've entered 14 codes, and only won twice, hitting 30 MyCokeRewards points both times.

I did this playing the "same position" strategy. I took middle the 1st time (8 codes) and left the 2nd time (6 codes)...If you do decide trying this strategy, do middle because I hit both there, and 2 out of 8 is better than 0 out of 6.McDonalds Monopoly Odds-How can we win?
its is 32.3456289564389468340346038256% chance. More or less? Hope this helps!
I have played 12 and have only won once. I selected the right side card all 12 times and also won the coke points.

My theory is it doesn't matter what card you pick as long as its at the right time...see below is the monopoly rule 6D. It basically says they have a computer that puts the prize up on the block at a certain time of day and the first person to log in and pick a card wins it. After that everyone is drawing dead until say 30 coke points come up, then nothing, then maybe more coke points, then nothing..etc. So basically ur odds are very random and not at all based on the 3 cards in front of you but based on the time you enter.

The free code that u get on the back of your McDonald board doesn't count as a play just to get you started and puts you in a sweepstakes. Only codes from the peeled stickers can be used for the online play.

6D also mentions that the prizes are put up on the basis of either once per day or every 15 min, though it doesn't say when those are. SO if you win a prize you should probably wait ~15 before trying to play another piece but this is my own speculation. You can interpret the rules how you wish, which is which they are written so confusing. I have not tested this method yet because I haven't won anything in a while and don't get many stickers at a time.

I believe the 1:4 winner = the online odds + the in store odds. So that is why if you get a large fry (4 stickers) you usually win something but not always bc the online odds make it that way. Id put the odds of winning something online (most likely coke points) at 1:12 maybe slightly better or worse, I would need more data, which would make the odds of winning an instant in-store win 1:6 maybe better or worse. Together they add to 1:4.

You wont win food prizes online, aside from coke points. You can win food prizes from the instant win stickers on the food only from what Ive seen but big prizes from both.

Hope this helps and Good Luck!

Online Game Odds/Details (6D in official Rules):

Prizes in the Online Game as described herein are available to be won only in the US. Prizes in the Online Game (except Shell Prizes that are available approximately every fifteen (15) minutes; Beaches Resorts Prizes that are available one (1) per Day 10/5/10/10 – 11/1/10; and Walmart $5,000 Shopping Spree prizes that are available one (1) per Day 10/5/10 – 11/15/10), are randomly seeded and available to be won at designated winning times (“Winning Times”) throughout the Online Game Play Period based on projected traffic patterns. As a result, more of some prizes are allocated between 12:00:01 p.m. and 7:59:59 p.m. when Participant activity is expected to be the highest. The time of successful Game Code submission will determine whether a Participant is a potential winner of a prize. The first Participant to execute a successful Game Code submission that is received and recorded by the Game Computer on or after a randomly designated Winning Time is the potential winner of the prize randomly designated to be won at that Winning Time. If no plays are received at the designated Winning Time, no plays are received and recorded by the Game Computer, the prize will remain available until it is awarded; however, if the Winning Time occurs for another higher value prize before the submission of the next Game Code, the Participant who submits that Game Code will be the potential winner of the “higher” value prize and the remaining prize will “stack” until the next valid Game Code (not a FREE Code) is received and recorded by the Game Computer. The odds of winning any prize in the Online Game depend on the random Winning Time selected for that prize to be available to be won, and the time any Participant’s Online play is received and recorded by the Game Computer. Daily and Quarter Hourly prizes may be available at any time during the applicable Day, or Quarter Hour and, once potentially won, will not be available again until the next Day (for Daily prizes) or Quarter Hour (for Quarter Hourly prizes).
